Background and Aim: Electromagnetic fields are the most important non ionizing radiation which can be originated from both natural and human sources. The safety of human exposure to an ever increasing number and diversity of electromagnetic field sources both at work and home has become a public health issue. This study was aimed to evaluate the effects of electromagnetic field on the levels of serum liver enzymes and blood parameters in power plant workers. Methods: In this study 80 power plant works were selected with no history of liver disease and no abnormalities on physical examination. The control group consisted of 80 persons who were Bank workers, groups were of the same age and sex. In both groups the levels of enzymes liver like ALT,AST were measured by Pars Azmon biochemical Kits and blood parameters were determined using Sysmex. Results: The results showed a highly significant increase (p<0/001) in ALT,RDW and Ly and a significant increase (p<0/05) in MCH,MCHC, Ne and Mo, compared to control group. The level of AST, WBC,RBC, Hb, HCT, MCV and PLT did not show significant increase (p>0/05) in comparasion to control group. Conclusion: The finding showed that exposure to electromagnetic radiation associated with changes of enzyme liver as well some hematological parameters.
